to creating high-quality, humified organic compost:
Remove carbon dioxide and and replace with oxygen —
the breakdown of organic matter and subsequent build-up of humus is a
microbial process that uses oxygen and generates carbon dioxide. Without
oxygen the process stops. To be effective, your turner must remove the
built-up carbon dioxide and replace it with oxygen. Repeated testing proves
that Aeromaster compost turners consistently remove virtually all
built-up carbon dioxide.
Manage Temperature — particularly during the breakdown
phase, considerable heat in generated during the composting process. If
the temperature becomes too high, the heat can kill the microbes that
are responsible for material breakdown. Aeromaster compost turners effectively
cool down the windrow during the turning process.
Maintain
Moisture — Like oxygen, water is essential to the breakdown
and build-up phases of the composting process. The unique turning action
of Aeromaster compost turners expose the surface of each compost particle
to the water spray coating all sides. This water coating action is particularly
valuable when you are inoculating the compost with supplemental microbial
species. The microbes can only work on the material they touch, so the
more thorough the coating action, the more effective the inoculation process.
Mix Without Pulverizing —- composting is the management
of a microbial process. In addition to managing carbon dioxide, temperature,
and moisture, the turning process must mix the material exposing particle
surfaces to moisture and microbes without turning the material to dust.
Aeromaster compost turners thoroughly mix windrow materials without pulverizing
the humus crumb structure that develops during the build-up phase of the
composting process.
If you use an Aeromaster compost turner, you

- Be a one man operation
with operator control from the cab
- Be able to water
each particle of the compost as opposed to just the outside of a row
- Be able to inoculate
(add proven beneficial microbes) to compost evenly throughout the row
at a low cost per cubic yard
- Maximize humus
formation due to its variable drum speeds and tine shape
- Maximize carbon
dioxide/oxygen exchange — tests show carbon dioxide levels at
maximum before turning and minimum immediately after turning
- Mix and blend composted
materials — move perimeter materials to the center and center
materials to the outside of a windrow. The tine shape promotes mixing
and blending as opposed to cutting and shredding. This maximizes humus
formation in the finished product. Microbes, not machinery, make compost.
- Be able to remove
the drum from the row at any time — our turners enable the composter
to walk into the middle of a row and examine the profile at any time.
If compost is too wet to turn that day, pull out and move on as opposed
to digging yourself out.
- Have proven durability

2-3 years without downtime, excepting normal maintenance.
